Well our first Super Sunday for flying students and private pilots was held on the weekend July 25, and 22 students took advantage of the discount flying rates for the day as well as the free barbie thrown on by the school. (thanks Harry)
Super Sunday was an answer to one of the questions posed in a recent student survey and generated some good interest from past and present pilots.
We started the barbie at lunch time and the last snags were being munched down around 5pm. Thanks to Barry K for manning the BBQ and Daniel for grabbing the goodies.
It was quite a busy day in the air and only slowed down in the afternoon when the rain decided to come to the event. All in all though a great day to catch up, have a chat with fellow students and pilots and swap some good tips on flying. Also good to practice entry proceedures and departures on a busier day, sharing the runways and air space with Touchdown Helicopters who we doing their Sunday Joy Flights.
Nick - Instructor and part time male model was on hand to talk us through the changes to class D air space proceedures and new Circuit entry proceedures into CTAF's and all those who attended indicated that they would like to see more days like this and more snags on the BBQ.
Watch this space for the next Super Sunday event, we may be able to squeeze one in at the end of August.

Barry K cooks a snag or three. Right are a few who stepped out in the rain for a photo and below left, Dimitri explains to Michelle the complexities of flying a left handed Beechcraft Dutchess.

Steve Hobson also took the Dutchess for his first dual flight with Adam. A lot quicker circuits than a 152 hey Steve. A couple of lucky stragglers went along for the ride.
